Cyber Bully.

👀💻

next:

#1 Real Life Example:

(The Amanda Todd case ):

- In 2012, Amanda Todd had officially announced suicided in her house. According to the youtube video that she made in September 2012, the only reason for her suicide was because of the unbearable bullies/cyberbullies from friends at more than one school for years. Boyfriends cheated on her, friends being rude, rumors spread on facebook had brought no courage for Amanda to move on, eventually, she hanged her in her house in 2012.

- This certainly brought up lots of attention, not just in local areas, but world-wide networks such as ABC News, CNN, Canada's CTV News are starting to use this as an example to avoid cyber bullies at school. By listing the unbearable sufferings that Amanda went through, governments and other news intend to show the depressing and ruthless consequences of cyber bullying. I Such action can further signify the seriousness of avoiding cyber bully.

#3 Real Life Example:

(Jessica Logan case):

-  A 18-year-old senior high school girl, Jessica Logan, had committed suicided in 2008. According to the University of Alabama's cyberbullying website, Jessica was died because of the threaten of cyber bully on Facebook, MySpace and text messages. Soon after she broke up with her boyfriend, a nude picture of her was sent to several high schools by her ex-boyfriend. Jessica couldn't carry the shame of the picture so he hanged herself after attending a funeral of an also suicided boy.

- This case is affecting the society there because the Montgotmery police was lawsuited by her parents as not keeping her daughter safe from harrasment. In response, Governor John Kasich also signed House Bill 116, known as the Jessica Logan Act, into law. Assigning a new law is definitely going to raise attention in public, even the government will care more about this issue.

#2 Real Life Example:

(Ryan Halligan case):

- Ryan Halligan started to be bullied in fifth and seventh grade at school two years ago before he was suicided in 2013. His physical and academic struggles were the first things that caused the rumor that he is gay, but texting with a popular girl in Ryan's grade who was cheated on him for a long time was the most dangerous thing. After Ryan figured out the truth, he felt supportless and even his 'true friend' was bullying him, he hanged himself in bathroom.

- Although Ryan had passed away for years, his parents are still delivering speeches of prevent cyber bully in schools around the world. They even set up an organization and websites in order to warn the world about this social issue.

Which case is the most influencial one?

- I think the first case is the most influencial one since there are so many videos including Amanda Todd's own uploaded video has been spread on social medias day by day. Her case is popular all over the internet and has been set as an anti-cyberbully example on many places even at schools. I think what Amanda did touches most of the readers or audiences, and we can actually see her aspirations before she passed away. As a result, Amanda's case can influence the whole community more.

How is cyber bully a social issue?

By harassing, threatening, harming others' personal lives using technology, the phenomenon of cyber bully has been received lots of political and academic attention from government around the world. The ways it affects teenagers are by using internet, teens could threat others' personal freedom and speech, which hugely affects teens' confidence and privacy. Nowadays, most of the cyber bully cases are happening between classmates or friends in schools. In response, adults and governments are delivering warnings through speeches or advertisements to avoid cyber bully at schools.
